Jollibee (JFC) secured its chicken supply chain with its joint venture with Cargill Phils., Inc. Their Sto. Tomas Batangas plant which can process up to 45 mn chickens per year will commence operations in 4Q17. This developed after a terrible experience back in mid-2014 when there was no Chickenjoy in JFC restaurants. That time, KFC and others had chicken, but JFC ran out. JFC had to temporarily close 72 outlets because of the incident. JFC may look into fortifying its supply chain to include beef and wheat in the future.
